NAACP McComb Branch and VFW Post 3934: A United Front for Justice and Veterans’ Advocacy

The NAACP McComb Branch is proud to stand in partnership with Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3934—united by a shared mission to serve, uplift, and protect those who have served our country and the communities they call home.

This partnership is rooted in mutual respect, historical significance, and an unwavering commitment to both civil rights and veterans’ rights. Together, we advocate for equity in care, benefits, and opportunity—particularly for African American veterans who have too often faced systemic barriers upon returning from service.

Our Joint Goals:

– Veteran Support & Benefits Access: Host events and outreach clinics to assist veterans in navigating VA claims, accessing healthcare, housing, and earned benefits.
– Mental Health & Wellness Advocacy: Raise awareness around PTSD, depression, and suicide prevention in underserved veteran communities, especially among older veterans and communities of color.
– Community Empowerment: Organize town halls, service projects, and educational events that connect veterans with youth, faith groups, and local leaders.
– Civic Engagement & Policy Change: Mobilize veterans and civilians alike to engage in local elections, policy advocacy, and public safety reform that reflects the needs of those who’ve served.
– Honor and Legacy: Preserve and uplift the stories of Black veterans and freedom fighters, past and present, whose contributions deserve recognition and remembrance.

Why It Matters:

This partnership ensures that no veteran is left behind, and no injustice goes unanswered. We honor service with action—on the battlefield, in the streets, and in the council chambers.

Justice is not just a cause—it’s a responsibility. And together, the NAACP McComb Branch and VFW Post 3934 are answering that call.
